7. Choose a Name Humans and Machines Can Distinguish
Before committing to a name, search it on Sunbiz, Google, Google Maps, the major social networks, domain registrars, the USPTO trademark database when relevant, industry directories, and two or three AI assistants. For the AI check, ask: "What company or entity does [NAME] refer to?" You are looking for collisions.
"Atlas Technologies" will collide with dozens of unrelated organizations. Something as specific as "Bok Grove Coffee" has a much cleaner footprint. A distinctive name makes it easier for customers, search engines and AI systems to connect:
this company → this website → this founder → this location → this product.
Then use that name the same way everywhere: Sunbiz, your tax receipts, your website footer, your Google Business Profile, your social profiles. If the public name differs from the legal entity name, Florida requires a fictitious name registration, and both the County and the City will ask for it.
